A beautiful course offering a mix of open meadows and wooded areas, designed to provide a fun yet challenging experience for golfers of all levels.

Starting points. Everything is built around your dates, group size, and the courses you want to play.
A long-weekend golf trip built around Mystic Rock and Shepherd’s Rock, with on-property luxury lodging, resort dining, spa access, and optional adventure activities across the Laurel Highlands.
A higher-end group itinerary using The Homes or The Estates as the base, with rounds on both Pete Dye courses and custom add-ons such as spa appointments, dining reservations, shooting sports, and private transportation.

Nemacolin works because it is much more than a place to play two strong resort courses. Mystic Rock is the headline Pete Dye layout, a former PGA Tour host with big bunkering, demanding approaches, and long views across the Laurel Highlands. Shepherd’s Rock, also by Pete Dye with Tim Liddy, adds a more dramatic mountain-golf feel with wider vistas, elevation change, and a strong second-round option on property. Away from the course, Nemacolin gives groups the full luxury-resort setup: multiple hotels, private homes and estates, a major spa, extensive dining, shooting sports, adventure activities, and enough non-golf experiences to make it work for couples, corporate retreats, and upscale buddies trips.
Nemacolin has several on-property lodging styles, including The Chateau, The Grand Lodge, Falling Rock, The Homes, and The Estates. Golf groups can choose from luxury hotel rooms and suites, boutique golf-adjacent lodging, townhomes, or large private estates with resort service.
Nemacolin is a full-scale luxury resort with two Pete Dye golf courses, a golf academy and practice facilities, multiple lodging styles, spa and wellness amenities, extensive dining, pools, shopping, outdoor adventures, shooting sports, and event spaces. It is built for trips where the resort experience matters as much as the golf.
Each property is selected for proximity to the next round, the kind of evening that fits a long golf trip, and the feel we want for the group.

Nemacolin is located in Farmington, Pennsylvania, about 70 miles southeast of Pittsburgh and roughly a 1 hour 30 minute drive from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). The resort also offers transportation service to and from Pittsburgh International Airport, Morgantown, Connellsville, and nearby Amtrak stations, but a rental car or arranged transfer is usually the easiest option for golf groups.
Nemacolin has two 18-hole championship golf courses: Mystic Rock and Shepherd’s Rock. Both are Pete Dye-designed resort courses, with Shepherd’s Rock completed in 2017 as the newer companion to Mystic Rock.
Mystic Rock is the best-known course because of its Pete Dye design, public-course rankings, and history as a former PGA Tour host. Shepherd’s Rock is also a must-play and gives the trip a different feel with bigger mountain views, dramatic terrain, and a slightly newer resort-golf experience.
Mystic Rock was designed by Pete Dye and opened in the mid-1990s. Shepherd’s Rock is Nemacolin’s second Pete Dye course and was completed in 2017, with Tim Liddy also associated with the project.

Yes. Nemacolin offers several lodging styles on property, including The Chateau, The Grand Lodge, Falling Rock, The Homes, and The Estates. That range makes it flexible for couples, small groups, families, and larger luxury golf trips.
Yes. Nemacolin is one of the stronger golf destinations for non-golfers because the resort has spa and wellness amenities, dining, nightlife, outdoor adventures, shooting sports, pools, shopping, and nearby Laurel Highlands attractions.
The best golf season is generally May through October. Summer offers the warmest weather, while late spring and fall are excellent for cooler temperatures and a more scenic mountain setting.
Nemacolin can work for all three, but it is especially strong for upscale buddies trips, couples golf vacations, and corporate retreats because the golf is paired with luxury lodging, dining, spa, and many organized resort activities.
