The Quarry/Dune combination is the strongest and most recognized 18-hole routing at Joondalup Resort’s 27-hole property. Robert Trent Jones Jr. used limestone quarry walls, native bush, elevation and water to create a bold, visually dramatic round unlike most golf in the Perth area. It is the essential resort round on the northern side of the city.

The Cut is the marquee coastal round south of Perth, routed through exposed dunes between the Indian Ocean and the Peel-Harvey Estuary. The course asks for a different game when the wind is up, with wide visuals, sandy waste and a sequence of seaside holes that give the Golf Coast its identity. It is public and makes an excellent anchor for a Mandurah stay.

Secret Harbour is a Graham Marsh design on natural dunes between Rockingham and Mandurah, with firm-running ground, pot bunkers and a deliberately Scottish links-inspired feel. Coastal breezes change the decisions all day, especially on the stronger holes through the back nine. It is one of Western Australia’s best public-access courses and an easy pairing with The Cut.

Meadow Springs is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. course threaded through native bushland and mature tuart trees just inland from Mandurah. It brings more parkland character to a Golf Coast itinerary, with strong bunkering, elevated greens and a proper championship test from the back tees. The course is a useful counterpoint to the open, windier rounds at The Cut and Secret Harbour.

The Vines Championship Course adds a Swan Valley option to the Perth side of the trip. Designed by Graham Marsh and Ross Watson, the par-72 layout combines generous fairways with large bentgrass greens, water and bunkering that become much more relevant from the championship tees. It has hosted major Australian professional events and pairs naturally with a wine-country afternoon.

What to Expect at Perth & Mandurah

Why visit

Perth golf trips work best when they are planned as a small road trip rather than a single-hotel city break. Joondalup provides 27 holes of bold resort golf north of Perth, while Secret Harbour and The Cut bring the coastal, wind-exposed golf that makes Mandurah’s Golf Coast worth the drive south. Meadow Springs adds a parkland counterpoint, and The Vines is a useful Swan Valley round when wine country is part of the plan. The cleanest Perth and Mandurah golf package uses two bases: Perth or Joondalup for the opening nights, then Mandurah for the final two or three. It suits groups and couples who want strong public-access golf, beaches, food and wine without depending on hard-to-secure private-club access.

Accommodations

Use Perth or Joondalup for the first half of the trip, then move to Mandurah for the coastal rounds. This avoids turning a 4–6 night itinerary into a string of long transfer days.

Resort amenities

This destination works because the courses can be grouped geographically. Joondalup Resort brings resort accommodation and 27 holes to the northern side of Perth, while Mandurah is a natural base for The Cut and Secret Harbour. The Vines offers an inland Swan Valley option when a winery afternoon is part of the plan.

Add Fremantle, Rottnest Island or Swan Valley wine country around the golf—not as an afterthought.

Getting there

Fly into Perth Airport (PER). Perth CBD is roughly 20 minutes away, Joondalup is about 30 minutes north, and Mandurah is around an hour south depending on traffic. A rental vehicle or private driver is recommended because the golf is spread across the metro area and coast.

Best time to visit

April–May and September–November are the most comfortable windows, with mild temperatures and reliable golf weather. Perth’s summer is dry and very playable, but January and February can be hot; book earlier tee times if traveling then.

Perth & Mandurah Golf Trip FAQs

Answers to the practical questions around courses, lodging, access and the best time to play.

Which courses should we play on a Perth and Mandurah golf trip?

Joondalup Resort, The Cut and Secret Harbour are the backbone of the trip. Meadow Springs and The Vines are the logical additional rounds, with the final mix shaped by your hotel bases, dates and tee-time availability.

Should we stay in Perth or Mandurah?

For a four- to six-night trip, use both. Perth or Joondalup is best for the opening nights and the northern courses; Mandurah is the better base for The Cut, Secret Harbour, beach time and the relaxed final stretch of the itinerary.

Are the main courses open to visiting golfers?

The core rotation is selected because it is generally accessible to visitors. Tee times, group limits and seasonal demand still apply, so JEL Golf Travel confirms the specific golf before finalizing the trip.

When is the best time to play golf in Perth and Mandurah?

April–May and September–November are the most comfortable periods. Summer is dry and popular but can be hot, particularly in January and February, so earlier tee times are preferable.

How many nights do we need?

Four nights is enough for a compact three-round trip. Five or six nights makes the two-base plan worthwhile and provides room for four rounds plus Fremantle, Rottnest Island or Swan Valley.
