Getting there
Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the primary gateway, approximately 130 km east of Fairmont Banff Springs; the drive to Banff is about 90 minutes in normal conditions. Scheduled airport shuttles, private transfers and rental cars are available from Calgary, and a Banff National Park pass is required for travelers entering the park.
- Best time to visit
- June through September is the strongest window for a golf-first trip, when the Stanley Thompson 18 is fully in season and Banff's summer conditions are generally most favorable. Fairmont lists the golf season as May through October, with opening and closing dates subject to weather.

- Stanley Thompson 18: 18 holes, par 71, 6,938 yards, designed by Stanley Thompson and built in 1927. Tunnel Mountain 9: 9 holes, par 36, 3,287 yards, designed by Cornish and Robinson and built in 1989. The Fairholme Rotation can combine Tunnel 9 with one nine of the Stanley Thompson course when available.
